Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream

I’m BACK…the flu was rough but it’s finally gone! I had a sort of New Year’s Resolution to ALWAYS post consistently 3 posts per week, even on vacation. However, I never planned on or anticipated the FLU. Anyway, enough of that!

If you read my last post on Neutrogena Bright Boost Illuminating Serum…this is another product in that same line. Some of the same things about that product apply to this one.

Like…. The Bright Boost line is interesting because it has been called, “The Skincare Line for Millennials Made By Millennials.” Apparently, Neutrogena had several women scientists younger in age create this line for themselves and women like them who might be experiencing a change in their skin. Neutrogena wanted to provide a product that would be great for mature skin and skin that is changing from what you might have had in your twenty’s.

However, I for one believe that this product is good for women of all ages.

This is such a pretty face cream.

Yeah, I know that’s not what you usually say about a skin product. With this one though, you can, it’s such a pretty pink color.

It also has a kind of shimmery glow about it that gives your skin a beautiful glow without any glitter or shine.

It does have a bit of a smell but it’s not overpowering. I would describe it as a clean floral scent.

This line is made to brighten up your skin.

What does that mean exactly? They will help to even out your skin’s tone. Meaning they help to reduce the appearance of any dark spots, or sun damage you might have. Also, if you have any skin conditions like melasma they can be beneficial in helping with them as well.

Like the serum, this one is packed with some awesome ingredients that help to make this a great product.

  • Mandelic Acid || This is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid {chemical compound used in skincare}. It helps to exfoliate your skin which will in turn boost brightness, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and increase your collagen production. If you have an issue with hyperpigmentation it will help reduce the appearance of that. This ingredient will also help treat acne issues.
  • Neoglucosamine || This is an Amino Acid Sugar that aids our skin in resurfacing and brightening skin. If you have been reading my posts at all then you have heard me mention Hyaluronic Acid well this ingredient is a building block to that skincare powerhouse. When our skin sheds it’s old cells every 30 days, those cells don’t always slosh off like they should. Instead, sometimes those cells linger creating dullness. This ingredient will help our skin get rid of those unwanted dead cells (gross, right!)
  • Squalane || This ingredient is made from sugarcane. It is an amazing moisturizer. Not only that but it also helps to balance oil production and has anti-aging properties that help keep those fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

Like with the serum I want to give you just a word of caution.

If you have never used this or a product like this definitely “ease” your skin into it by using it every other day at first. Just until you let your skin become accustomed to the ingredients. To be honest my face is used to products like this because I have been a faithful retinol user but I still had to ease my face into this.

The bottle advises you to use this morning and night (which is what I do) but it took me a minute to work up to that. Don’t be surprised if it takes you a few days too!
