Wet n Wild photo focus 3-in-1 Primer water Coconut

Primer Water…bet you might be wondering what is that?

Essentially it is a “facial spray” or “face mist” and you might also be thinking that they are an unnecessary step to your beauty routine. I generally try not to advise you on unnecessary steps because I value your time immensely. I do, of course, tell you about extra steps that can help your skin stay or become healthy. This is an extra step that you might not have thought about using.

They come in all manner of types, full of all kinds of ingredients and there is one for every skin type. Some will mattify and some will hydrate. Many are full of soothing ingredients but some will include ingredients that absorb oil.

One of my previous newsletters focused on another “facial spray” I highly recommend, rose water. If you aren’t getting my newsletter every Thursday and would like to sign up click on the pop up form or go HERE.

Facial sprays are really easy to use and there are many ways to use them…

  • Before applying moisturizer. Did you know that your moisturizer is more effective if applied to a “wet” face? Picture a sponge, a wet or damp sponge can soak up or hold more liquid than a dry one. Same for your face. A wet face or a damp face will hold moisturizer better than a dry one.
  • Before applying makeup. When you use them before make up, it’s a great way to start with a moisturized “canvas”. Just follow up with your primer and you’re ready to go.
  • Using it after applying makeup as a “refreshing” spray for your face especially on hot days.
  • They also help to keep your skin from drying out. If you find that your skin gets drier as the day goes on then spray some onto your skin for a refresh without messing up your makeup.
  • If you’re a gal that likes to work out you can spritz on some of these facial waters after a work out for a fresh face.

This one is coconut. We all know how hydrating coconut is and that’s why so many products contain that ingredient. There are many benefits to using coconut in your skincare. It keeps your skin moisutrized because it is rich in fatty acids. It is also one of those ingredients that is good for all skin types because of it’s antimicrobial properties. This one especially is good for all skin types because it isn’t a heavy moisturizer making it good for girls with oily skin.

…And it smells so good!!

WnW calls this a “3-in-1” so, what is that?

  • Prep || the step before you moisture or apply makeup
  • Set || the step after you finish applying makeup. Although, this isn’t a “setting” spray because those are primarily makeup and not skin care. This can work as one with the added benefit of being skincare.
  • Refresh || the step where you add it all throughout the day or after a workout.

One of my favorite things about this, is the sprayer. It is awesome. I know that sounds crazy but it is a seriously good sprayer.

As I was researching for this post, I noticed that this one is reported to be a dupe for the much more expensive $32 Smashbox Photofinish Primer Water “So Chill Coconut.” I’m not sure if that’s true or not since I haven’t tried that one but that’s what Mr. Google told me!
