Revlon photoready Candid Natural Finish Foundation

One of my goals for 2020 is to feature more foundations from the drugstore. I feel like there are SO many options that it can become overwhelming. I’m on a mission to make sure that everyone of you can find everything they need…skincare and makeup wise…in the drugstore. Sure, you can find prestige products that might be better in terms of ingredients. Maybe, but why would you want to pay more for a product when you don’t have to. From my point of view, I’d rather save that money and buy…more shoes, maybe!

So, without further ado…here’s my first installment in “Foundation 2020”

Revlon photoready Candid

My first impression of this on the shelves at Walmart was the shade variety…it is INSANE. If there is one complaint in drugstore foundations it is in the variety of shades available. The drugstore makeup companies must have heard all the complaints because they have really stepped up their game in this area. Revlon photoready Candid has 31 shades {can you even believe that}. It is not a new release. Revlon released this in the fall of 2018.

foundation + skincare is how it is described on the Revlon website

kind of a hybrid blend of the two

This one is a “natural-looking” foundation that is medium coverage but lightweight at the same time. Almost like a tinted moisturizer. However, it is buildable so you can make it as heavy or light coverage as you need.

This is free from oils, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, or harsh fragrances.

The packaging is one of my favorite parts of this foundation. It is in a tube with a pump. I LOVE the pump.

What do I think about this foundation?

For starters, I purchased the wrong shade. It’s not completely wrong just a little lighter than what I need. That’s my fault and not anything to do with the product. Having said that it wasn’t something that kept me from using it I just used bronzer to make me darker.

I got shade 230.

Personally, I do NOT like heavy foundations. Instead I prefer tinted moisturizers, BB Cremes, and CC Cremes anything really that doesn’t feel heavy on my face.

I like how this feels on my face. It is definitely medium coverage but it didn’t feel heavy to me. It does feel heavier than my tinted moisturizer but not TOO heavy.

I like the coverage it gives and it is definitely medium coverage. I primarily used this on those occasions when I wanted to wear “more” makeup than my average day to day running to Piggly Wiggly!

I applied this with my beauty blender {if you don’t use one of these then you NEED TO GET ONE NOW!}

I liked how my complexion looks when I wear this and I don’t find that it settles into my fine lines and wrinkles. However, I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, wear a primer.

Will I keep this in my makeup drawer? Yes, I will, however, I will purchase a darker shade especially after I start tanning but I will grab this foundations for those occasions when I want to go “full face”.
