If you have a girl, pre-teen or teenager, in your life I have found a product for you.
Vitamin C is kind of all the rage now in the skincare world. It has some powerful antioxidants that help to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein found in your skin that gives it its structure and elasticity, which you lose as you age. Vitamin C helps our skin repair damage done by the sun, the elements and aging. Sounds good right? Well, it is except that Vitamin C serums are new and mostly expensive (don’t worry I’m trying to find us an effective drugstore version). This brings me to this product. The fact that it has Vitamin C in it first drew me to it.
Have any of you ever researched Korean beauty products and regimens? I have, and it’s in depth and intense. I mean have you noticed how flawless their skin is…they must be doing something right. Anyway…I digress. Korean girls start taking care of their skin at very young ages. Not so much because their skin needs it but more to create good habits to take into the rest of their lives.
I liked this product. The packaging is so cute (and let’s be honest, that matters) and the smell is nice. There are 45 pads in the container. The pads were coated with enough of the product to cover my whole face in lemony goodness. The pad isn’t very rough but enough to do a mild exfoliation. For me, it wasn’t something that I would add to my beauty regimen; I think there are better exfoliators out there. Having said that though, it’s still a good product.
Now, I’ve said all that to get to this!
I think this would be a great product to introduce your young girls to. The Korean’s are right about starting good habits early. The earlier that girls start taking care of their skin the healthier it will be when they are older, and the added benefit is that they become accustomed to washing their face every…single…night. A habit that can carry them into adulthood. I think that your girls will love using this product and it’s mild enough not to hurt their face. Even if they are not at the age to wear makeup yet, there is still dirt and sweat that should be removed. These good skin practices developed today will help them learn the necessity of washing off their makeup later. If they are already wearing makeup then they really need to be using this or another exfoliator.
There are other products in the Clean & Clear Lemon line. There is a juice toner, gel cleanser, and zesty scrub. I have only tried this one product but I think this line has the potential for being a great skincare option for your girls.
Please, as always use caution when using new products and do a small test before putting it all over your (or your girls) face.
